Revolution to support Individual Developers?

Nintendo's Compact Console Will Turn the World of Gaming on Its Side

"Freedom of design: A dynamic development architecture equally accommodates both big-budget, high-profile game “masterpieces” as well as indie games conceived by individual developers equipped with only a big idea. "

Nintendo's press release, quoted here implies that the system will run do-it-yourself code. This could open some interesting possiblilities on Nintendo's front. Up until now for the most part you could only run 'signed code' with the blessing of the console manufacturer.
