Next generation of violent video game more realistic than ever

Next generation of violent video game more realistic than ever

"THE next generation of the controversial video game Grand Theft Auto is set to feature more realistic violence, according to the latest reports on the production.

Staff at the Edinburgh design company Rockstar North are hard at work creating the latest version of the best-selling title which has attracted a storm of criticism for its adult content.

The new game, being designed for the as yet unreleased Playstation 3, is likely to feature the same controversial elements that made previous version such a success.

And its excess of violence could spark even more outrage on the new console, with developers promising the graphics will be more realistic then ever.

The internet is rife with gossip about what is almost certain to be one of the biggest selling games of all time, after a French magazine claimed to have images from the top secret development.

It will be some time before the game hits the shelves however, with the Playstation 3 not expected to land in stores until next year."

I don't know if you can really get any more violent with GTA. Was Vice City that much more violent then GTA III? Was San Adreas that much more violent then Vice City? I really think this article is trying to say that the next-gen consoles will be able to produce a much more realistic experience. If you gave the original Super Mario Brothers a photo-realistic polish, even jumping on Goombas would appear to be a malicious act.
