NEXT-GEN FIGHT NIGHT ROUND 3 DETAILS PUNCH IN

"With the power of the Playstation 3 we can now see every drip of sweat fall from these burly boxers' faces

Kudo Tsunoda, executive producer at EA Chicago, has been talking up his new sweaty boxing game Fight Night: Round 3 and has even dropped some details on the Playstation 3 version.

Speaking to US mag Game Informer, Tsunoda spoke about Fight Night: Round 3's intricate graphics engine. The game uses a 'Mo Cap' system, which realistically renders a character's skin, realistically stretching it over a modelled bone structure - blimey. "The U-Cap is affecting how the skin moves and making the skin less plastic and more organic," Tsunoda explained.

Graphical touting aside, Tsunoda did offer some rare details on the PS3 version of the game. "I think the cool thing about the [PS3] controller, especially with our game, is that I think it allows people with not as large hands to better utilize the analogue sticks. Our game is so analog stick driven. I think that [the] controller is set up nicely to work in our game."

And with FNR3 also confirmed for Xbox 360, will we additionally be seeing the sequel in wand-waving Revolution action? "I think it's really interesting technology and we could do cool things with it," said Tsunoda. "As a developer, I'm always excited seeing new things being done because it definitely gives you more things to play with."

EA has so far officially confirmed Fight Night: Round 3 for Xbox, PS2, PSP and Xbox 360, these versions releasing in early 2006." [link]
