"Microsoft leading on THE top-selling Xbox title to test Xbox 360 backwards compatibility...
The ever resourceful Larry Hryb, Xbox Live Director of Programming (aka MajorNelson), today described a recent playtest of Halo 2 running backwards compatible on the Xbox 360 as “really cool”.
Specifics were kept closely guarded, although Hryb did lay claim to becoming the first person to do a “corpse-hump” on the 360. The game was played in split-screen, with Hryb describing the experience as “...you couldn’t tell the difference” despite still undergoing a variety of tweaks to optimise performance.
Despite the claims, doubt and confusion still continues to encircle the state of Xbox 360 backwards compatibility, as Microsoft refuse to elaborate on the definition of “top-selling” and exactly what games constitute this in the first place.
