I'm sure they will have a whopping 12 hours of gameplay between them if they're anything like the first game.
Good ride, but for $50 there's barely a few days worth of gameplay and almost no replay value. Let's hope they learn from #1 and add some length.

Ah, it's so nice to see a Negative Nancy posting away, whining about a game that has consistently been rated as one of the most enjoyable fighting adventures of all time. Cheer up, bucko. Put a smile on your face, play the games you like, and let the rest of us look forward to the hopes of a sequel that will hopefully be just as fantastic, engrossing, beautiful, and yes, replayable.

It might be enjoyable, but it was only enjoyable for 4-5 days. Compared to something like Resident Evil 4 that kept me engrossed for a month, I completed GoW in less than a week. I loaned it to 2 friends and they did the same thing.
Once you win it, there's no replay value.
If people didn't ever make negative comments on it, everyone would be dropping 50 bucks and wishing for more. GoW is a game that a good player should likely rent.
It's a hell of a ride (until you get the sword...which you can just spin repeatedly and 90% of enemies can't hit you) but it's painfully short.

I'm guessing the Negative Nancy didn't try GoW on God mode to try to unlock the rest of the countless bonus features, or the mini-game to unlock the new costumes. Try beating the 3 stages of the Ares battle on God mode and tell me how long you are playing it, and no, the Sword of Artemis WON'T work.

I just want to say that all those people that say GOD OF WAR has no replay value are to busy looking up cheats on the net and finding the stuff they need to get through a level. TRY playing it straight and not cheating try it that way and you might have more fun idot's GOD OF WAR ROCKS. BIG SICK 1

ok look im 23,and im going to act my age,and not fight like little sissy boy about this.The plain and simple fact it is that the game has awsome game play and has superb graphics and if you try the harder levals of the game it does take you a long time becouse if you have no skills youll die in like 2 seconds flat(not going to point any fingers) witch makes it worth the bucks to go and get it i have and its wonderful and i plan on getting the 2nd and 3rd addition to this game

God of wars is tight. Nobody don't want to replay a completed challenge, esp. doing some balancing across blades and monsters firing at you where time is running out :) I'll say if might take one or two weeks to beat the game (without walkthrough).. too bad it does not contains real cheats (get bonuses or something).. would be too easy ;-)

GOW is the shit. I played the hell out of it, as did the people I let borrow it. It took a while for me to play through both times because, well, I have a job and a life outside of my PS2 that I must attend. I would wish for more gameplay and possibly a more graphically accurate Hades, other than that...bring on GOW2!!

And by the way, anyone who beat RE4 in a weekend hasn't played the game or has absolutely no life or a basic need for sleep...since there is at least 30 hours worth of game for someone who is the shit and can play it like a maniac. I got through it in 45 hours. I took a while, again that pesky life I have to maintain...

That's the thing i love about people who say a game like GOW can be completed quickly,no wonder when we can clearly see that you play ALL your games on easy mode!

Button bashing just doesn't work on god mode or the challenge of the gods.

Being that I just beat GOW on God mode I have to say if you can beat the second stage of fighting Ares on GOD MODE (doppleganger fight) YOU ARE THE S***

GOW2 looks really good. In GOW2 one of new moves for example is to tear out a cyclops eye jam it in its mouth and stomp it's jaw shut! It has some new features too like using the Chaos Blades (or Athena's Blades) to grapple and climb walls with. Anyone who wants a big article on GOW2 needs to get the 3/06 issue of Game Informer for all the details.

god of war e un buon gioco graficamente e buono e i combatimenti sono molto fluidi le sue lame ricordano un po le armi di dante in devil may cry 3... comunque il gioco molto corto. come anno gia detto bisogna provare la modalita dio ma e abbastanza noioso ripetere un gioco. poi secondo me in certi giochi buttano dentro tantissimi boss e il boss deve essere ad ogni livello verso la fine mentre in questo qua di boss se ne vedono ben pochi

God of war is the best game there ever was. Anyone who says that God of war sucks is a total freak. The game has great graphics and the best story line. Resident evil 4 has no point besides blowing up zombies. Theres been way to many zombie games as of God of war is a whole different story. GOD OF WAR IS THE BEST. RESIDENT EVIL SUX ASS!!!

Why he hell are you guys comparing GOW and RE4 anyway! The two are nothing alike!Prince of Persia is a better comparison to GOW.(Kratos would kick Prince's or Leon Kennedy's asses hands down)Sure GOW can be relatively short up to Spartan mode. But God mode will definately test your patience as it did mine (couldn't do it). All in All best F##king game i've played in a looooooooong time.

gow and re4 are the best fucking game out on ps2 i have finished both of them. it must of tok me 5 days to finish 95% of gow i can not finish the last Challenge with the snak things and how can you not like RE4 with the villages trying to kill you with pichfrks, axes and cainsaw its fun as.

God of War is quite possibly the greatest game for PS2. It's dark story line and brutal gameplay were the best ever. I am looking forward to GOW2 and can't wait to see what they do with it on the new console...

i have played god of war many times and it is worth the amount that any one would pay for it,the platform of the game is spectacular ie the greek mythology.
The entire vision of the SCEA was superb.As one plays the game in the normal or easy mode u do not get the real feel of the game but as one progresses into the tougher modes of the game it gets into you asking you to be more skillfull.I am keenly waiting for the second and third part if there is gonna be.
And yes the clips that i have seen for god of war are telling the game play as well as plot would be great and the graphics were just captivating.
Its a good game and fi u have a ps play and get into the blood shed

Bunch of whiny people here eh? Incredible, it DOES have replay value, i remember renting it like a year ago, and up until a few days ago, which I bought it, I wanted to play it again, it has replay value, except this time, i skipped Easy mode, God mode, is hard, the Sword of Artemis will not work good in Hard Mode, you NEED the original dual swords (forget name), God Mode is quite challenging, but sadly I am stuck at the final battle, I can't get by the part where you have to protect your family, its just too damn hard, even when i have everything maxed! I've tried everything, But, still, its a god damn great game, and the graphics in 2 have pushed the PS2 to its Limit, i cannot WAIT to see how awesome it will look on the PS3

ok listin up to all of you people who are bitching what is better RE or GOW I will end all of this once and for all . Ok and dont forget that RE Games have been out for a while. RE started back in 1996 and that was ranked 8.3 which was great??????.Know when RE4 came out it was Ranked a 9.6(on game cube) and a 9.3 on PS2.know dont forget there were alot of titles out in between RE1 and RE4. When Gow came out it was ranked a 9.6 which is a supurb and that was only the first game. Dont get me wrong RE is a good great game but GoW crushed it. Gow was sold quicker then crack. So really Gow is the better. AND BEFORE ANY OF YOU DUMB ASSES DISSRESPECT GOW OR RE YOU NEED TO GET YOUR INFO RIGHT BEFORE SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT ANY GAME YOU DUMB MOTHER FUCKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God of War is one of the funnest, and most kick-ass games I've ever played. Let me tell you, I've played some games in my day too. It was an amazing game with an amazing story and killer gameplay. I mean sure, on Normal it may not take long to beat it, but just think of how amazed you were in the process, I sure as hell know I was. I loved how everything was coming together and how kick ass the story was. Plus the gameplay was fucking supreme. But besides that, if you still think thats too short, like others have said, you can just try and beat it on fucking God mode and unlock a shit load of bonus features. Great game. GOD OF WAR IS ONE OF THE GREATEST GAMES

ok. how about RE4 rocks the gaming worlds socks. and GoW rocks the same. they are both completely superb games. and, they are both in 2 completely different catagories. so everyone should stop agruing about which one is better. they are both fucking good. and both games have great replay value. i would have both of them if i didnt take my re4 back to reserve GoW2. but believe me. i will get re4 back.

I completed god of war today and got it the day is came out...that was a 3 day game play. the game was good but very fast. it was tooo short...please learn from this mistake and make part 3 @ least a week long...
