"Lawrence retailers reported selling out on Tuesday of new Xbox 360 video game consoles.
As Microsoft said this week that it received isolated reports of technical problems with the much-anticipated video game system — including screens freezing only minutes into a game — none of those complaints have reportedly come from the Lawrence area.
Marshall Haake, electronics manager for Super Target, 3201 Iowa, said eager customers lined up to buy the Xbox 360 the afternoon before, and his store sold out quickly on Tuesday.
Haake said on Friday that no one had tried to return an Xbox 360. He said he had heard no complaints or reports of glitches or problems with the system.
“If we did receive any, there’s nothing we could do as far as repairing the game system,” Haake said.
The store would grant a refund with a receipt if customers desired, but there would be no guarantee as to when they could get a new Xbox 360.
“We have two dozen people calling every morning at 8 a.m. asking when we will get more. I don’t know,” he said." [
