This week proved to be filled with many rumors regarding the Nintendo Revolution. With the console set to launch sometime in the New Year, almost every piece of information is conjecture at this point, and we at NintendoReveolution.ca treat each piece of news with a certain level of skepticism.

If you haven’t been able to keep up-to-date, here is a bit of a recap from this past week.

Rumor 1

Playbomb.com was reporting some interesting news regarding the Nintendo Revolution. In this image you can see the revolution projecting a picture (2 beams of light) onto a portable display. Does this mean the Revolution will be a projector?

Even more startling is what the box is labeled, “Nintendo Futurna.” Could this be the official name of Nintendo’s next generation console? Or just a very old concept image no longer relevant?

A few days later Playbomb confirmed that because of odd scan lines, the images were not real.

Rumor 2

Spong reported this week that we can expect a “global release of the Nintendo Revolution in June of 2006.

“As of early October this year, we had agreed with all key partners that a global ship date of June 2006 was achievable,” said the source from Spong “Nintendo will get the launch in Japan and America and Europe as close as possible. It will be like the Xbox 360 launch, only tighter.”

Rumor 3

Both Gamestop.com and Amazon.com have listed Nintendo revolution titles on their websites. Perhaps the most significant part of this information is that both sites have listed that the Nintendo Revolution is slated for release in March 2006.

Another, and probably more plausible explanation would be, like Gamestop, Amazon has added a generic pre-release date until they could determine a more accurate date. Either way Amazon is now the second retailer who has posted the March launch Date.

Rumor 4

A Spanish website called MeriStation conducted an interview with Nintendo's, Jim Merrick recently, in which he quickly put to rest some of the misinformation surrounding Nintendo’s place amongst Microsoft and Sony. In the interview, Merrick addressed one question that has been in the back of the minds of many a Nintendo fans - How good will the Nintendo Graphics be? Merrick explained a “difference will not exist” between the Nintendo Revolution and the competition" [link]
