"Nintendo may drop the company's next-generation video game console, code-named Revolution, as late as Thanksgiving 2006, according to IGN.
The late 2006 release date would make the Revolution the latest to the next-generation video game wars. Microsoft was first out of the gate with the global launch of the Xbox 360 this holiday season. Rival Sony is scheduled to drop the Playstation 3 in spring 2006.
Previous reports estimated Revolution's release at mid-2006.
Nintendo's GameCube was released over one year after Sony's Playstation 2 console and has seen
poor sales against it and Microsoft's Xbox.
Nintendo head Satoru Iwata previously said that Nintendo would not be late to the next console wars, however recent reports say that the video game veteran no longer sees itself as direct competition to Sony or Microsoft's next-generation offerings." [
