"Car manufacturer Nissan has joined forces with US computer giant Microsoft to create a concept car that will allow motorists to play the Xbox 360 game console when parked.
Dubbed the Nissan Urge, the vehicle will enable drivers to play Project Gotham Racing 3 using the car's own steering wheel, gas pedal and brake pedal while viewing the game on a flip-down seven-inch LCD screen.
"Nissan conducted an Internet survey of 2,000 echo boomers, a majority of which said technology and gaming are among the most important attributes in their first car," said Bruce Campbell, vice president of design at Nissan Design America.
"Xbox 360 offered the latest in technology and was already a favourite among this audience."
Project Gotham Racing 3 allows players to virtually drive the streets of New York, London, Tokyo and Las Vegas.
Microsoft launched the Xbox 360 in the US on November 22, followed by the European launch of the machine on December 2.
In addition to playing games, the 360 can also be used to watch DVDs, view photos and listen to music.
No pricing details have been announced for the Urge." [
